I decided to research some no meat meals for my family. Meat just costs so much these days and to be honest it is not necessary for every meal. If I can find a way to sneak veggies into my family too, I'm all for it! This pita sandwich delivers on flavor and added a little excitement to our diet! I merged two kinds of food here in this pita. The falafels are a middle eastern ingredient but the tzatziki sauce is a Greek ingredient. The recipe I used called for a tahini sauce but I did not have any tahini in my pantry. I'm sure that sauce would be amazing too and I do plan on trying it soon! The addition of the tzatziki gave this sandwich the moisture it needed plus another layer of flavor. It's really exciting to try new recipes from other parts of the world. We can take a vacation through our food without even leaving the comforts of our home!
